"The truly ‘mysterious' object is beyond our apprehension... not only because our knowledge has certain irremovable limits, but because in it we come upon something inherently ‘wholly other'... and before which we therefore recoil in a wonder that strikes us chill and numb." - Rudolph Otto

Submission Guidelines:

We are looking for short fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry that involves itself and its readers in wonder. We seek to deal with wonder in art and are looking for writing that does the same, however we leave it up to you how you define “wonder.”

General:

Submission should be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it as a SINGLE Word document with “rednoW submission” and which genre you are submitting in subject line of the email. Do not mix genres; send an email for each genre you are submitting. Include your name, email, phone number and a short list of previous publications or other pertinent information. We will accept simultaneous submissions, but would like to know which pieces are being submitted elsewhere. Look around the site and spend some time reading before submitting.

Fiction and Creative Non-fiction:

We are looking for well crafted prose with attention to craft as well as subject matter. Take a look at the books we are writing about as well as the writing we are publishing to get a better picture of what we are looking for. The word count should not exceed 2000 words. Submit no more than two pieces at a time.

Poetry:

We are looking for poetry that is well crafted and focuses as much on form as on subject matter. Take a look at the poetry we are writing about and publishing to get a picture of what we are looking for. Submit no more than three pages of poetry

Technical Difficulties

We apologize as we are currently experiencing a few technical problems (registration and some sections). The good news is these problems are the pre-cursor to a new site we are working on (both in design and philosophy). In the short term, we hope to fix these problems soon. Thanks for your patience.
