Dear askbrowning,

So for the last couple decades I've been nurturing and defending families worldwide. It's been great, very rewarding, both professionally and personally, but instead of just focusing on families I think I would like to expand my scope... Any ideas of what might be some good things to focus on?

Blessings,

Dr. James D. (Colorado Springs, CO)

Dr. D.,

I am intrigued by your past work experience. It's good to hear that someone out there is defending our families. I recently read somewhere that the 1,437th leading cause of nonfatal deaths in families is accidents involving Roombas, the robotic, self propelled, carpet sweepers. To me that just seems unacceptable, when we all know how important families are to the fabric of our society. Sure clean carpets are important, but not more important than the life of a child (unless that child is the one who was sitting behind me on my recent flight to Chicago and was blessed with the ability to cry for three straight hours without breathing. Then I don't really give a rip). I mean, is that what we've come to as a society? We're willing to sacrifice the life of our own family members just because we don't have time to vacuum by hand? I will admit that it is amazing to watch those little devils work, but still...

As for what else you could focus on, did you know that you have the same initials (Dr. D.) as Dr. Dre? Maybe you two should think about putting together some sort of collaboration. I think Dr. Dre's passion for families was never more evident than when he said, "It ain't nothin' but a G thing, baby." Truly, it really is not anything more than a G thing, and with your passion for defending and nurturing and Dre's ability to drop a phat beat it seems like a match made in heaven.

Sincerely,

askbrowning

About "askbrowning"

Along with a discussion of wonder comes questions. Questions about the meaning of life, questions about the origins of life, questions about why all of Nickelback's songs sound exactly the same.

Of course there are times when we must allow mystery to be mysterious, but at other times that is not enough. There are those of us who must ask the questions that burn in our guts like a fire that is really, really, really hot; so hot that it's not even orange, but is a blue-colored flame fire. But where in this world shall we turn when our guts burn with these questions? Who among us can we ask these questions of? When there is no one else to ask... ASKBROWNING.

That is why we at rednow have created the askbrowning section. If you have a question that perplexes, please hesitate no longer; send your question to askbrowning [at] rednow [dot] com.
