That is just unbelievably awesome. Thanks for sharing, Eric. I've been a HUGE fan of planet earth (the series) since the first preview I saw. Mostly, I think, because I've been a huge fan of planet earth for as long as I can remember.

As you mentioned, I feel a lot of things while watching that video. I want to watch the whole series again. I'm bewildered at how they got some of those shots. I wish my computer screen was bigger and the video of higher quality.

But mostly, more than anything... I feel thankfulness. I feel completely drawn to a Creator who created everything I'm watching and then created humans to enjoy it, and through that, enjoy Him. I feel so thankful that I live in a place that is so astoundingly and obviously constantly reflecting glory. We exist a world SOAKED in the beauty and joy its Creator.

It makes me think of Dallas Willard in the Divine Conspiracy when he's discussing the joy of God and how He is constantly experiencing the fullness of all beauty and all joy in all places at all times. Um, that's a rather big-ish thought (and one to contemplate perhaps later). But it's fascinating to me. I love that I can feel a sliver of that wonder by just watching a video (much less seeing some of those views in person). I love that we're wired that way... to enjoy. - Dan Nicholas
