The moment where the balcony in Memphis slide and the kid's question "Did they kill him too?" come up gives me chills and welling tears every time I've seen it. Really well put together AND just amazing content on its own. A question I've thought about every time I've seen it. Does the coupling of Jesus and King in the piece, both in terms of mission and death, move me to care more deeply about King's life and cause, Jesus' or both? Does that make sense? I'm pretty highly predisposed to view both very positively, but I find myself watching the clip and being more moved by King than Jesus. I'm guessing that is because of the way the clip plays out, with Jesus first and King's death as the climax and because I feel more fully alligned with Jesus to begin with and feel the clip as a call to therefore identify more with the causes of King and others like him. Eric, thoughts? Others? Watching the clip for three weeks at camp I found myself wondering if it ideally works as a clip about the cross event or better for a talk looking at 'now that the cross has happened, what does that mean for me from here out.'
